A short introduction about the LGBTQIA initials.
L: Lesbian: is a lesbian is a female is sexually or/and romantically attracted to other females.
G: Gay: is a male who is sexually or/and romantically attracted to other males. However this word might also refer to a homosexual person in general.
B: Bisexual: you use this term if a person has a romantic or/and sexual attraction to both males and females. Or to people of any sex or gender identity. This latter aspect can also be called pansexuality.
T: Transgender: This term is often used for people whose gender identity differs from the gender they were born with.
Q: Queer: this word is used for sexual and gender minorities that are not heterosexual.
Q: can also stand for questioning: it is if someone is not sure of ones gender, sexual identity or orientation.
I: Intersex: "Intersex is a variation in sex characteristics including chromosomes, gonads, or genitals that do not allow an individual to be distinctly identified as male or female." (as explained at: https://ok2bme.ca/resources/kids-teens/what-does-lgbtq-mean/)
A: Asexual: Asexuality is used if a person is not interested in sex (or low interest) to any other person.
A: can also stand for Ally: this term is used for friends/ supporters of the LGBTQIA community.
